Actually, I have just noticed something! Sarah Jane mentions Ian and Barbara and them not ageing which everyone twigged on to, but nobody seemed to notice that she called them Ian and Barbara Chesterton. They are married Cheesy

Just like they always should have been Smiley

Ok, just finished.
And, well. Ok, I was the one who voted it a 3.

Really loved the first part, but the 2nd was a bit rushed really.
It wasn't crap, and I find MS extremely watchable, but I think I was expecting more.
For me it was all the old stuff I liked about it - the references & clips.
Maybe I'm biased cos I was expecting more after SJ asked 11 what happened at the end for 10?

Was quite surprised that a cbbc show blew up some folk right enough, even if they were mostly walking KFC!

Ok, I just watched.

Let me get the one bad thing out of the way.

I didn't like End of Time. Because, 10 was supposedly dying, but he went and visited all his companions. That could have taken hours or even days. So, he can't of been that hurt.... And that was when I thought it was just the companions from Rose onward. Now we find out he checked on EVERYONE. EVERYONE! From Susan to Donna Noble, and I assume Jackson and Lady Christina. That definitely would have taken even longer than I originally thought to track them down etc, which wrecked EoT for me even more. Meh.

That being said, I loved the episode, and the references to all the other companions.

"What do you mean the Mona Lisa?!" was the best line of the show!

It was great to see Jo Grant, and I didn't mind Santiago as much as some people did.

The regen line: it seems to me that it was serious but 11 was just really entertained with Clyde asking these questions. It seemed more of an amused answer than a throwaway one.

But I have just witnessed The Sarah Jane Adventures at it's best, and I can't wait to see what it is going to do next.

I know! I'm in two minds whether that's good or not, but it makes sense I suppose. I kinda hope they don't have kids though, just doesn't seem "them" to me. I still don't know what to make of the not aging thing, seems very... random.

I think its a great thing. In some of the spin off books they are married with a child, a son I think. I think it was a great thing that they are kind of 'officially' married

Just watched & I absolutely loved it. Going to be watching that quite a few more times.

Matt Smith was fab - still loving his Doctor more every time I see him.

And I'm definitely going to make an effort to watch all the SJA eps that there have been now - I'm missing an absolute gem  Smiley

That was so watchable I forgot to come on here/have dinner Roll Eyes

Brillant - another 5 from me Cool

Nostalgic my foot - there wasn't one clip/reference that wasn't appropriate. And how anyone can have taken the chatter between Clyde and 11 about regeneration in anyway seriously is beyond me. Thank God RTD came clean Tongue

Not that THAT will prevent the endless whinging Roll Eyes

I haven't watched any SJA since the premiere, but I definitely tuned in to see Matt Smith.  He's looking as adorable as ever!!   Other than him though I'm afraid I didn't enjoy much else about the episode.  I know it's a children's show, but geez it was silly.  And the over the top sappiness reminded me of just how glad I am that RTD is no longer writing for Doctor Who.

I have to agree that it was fairly OTT through out, but as a one off every now and again I can take it, esp when it isn't consentrated on one actor but the character as a whole Tongue

I think he did a fantastic job keeping it firmly aimed at young children with all the nostalga he crammed into less than an hour of television.  Considering only a million or so people will have tuned in to watch, I think every type of fan was catered for.  Tough job, and he pulled it off well imo.

I absolutely loved this episode. I only got around to watching it today fo various reasons but it was well worth the wait. The writing, pacing an acting were all spot on and the nods to the past were both touching and well placed within the story. The scene with the doctor and Jo were played brilliantly and you really felt like she and Matt had been working together for years. I would love to see her make another return in the main show. The nod to companions past at the end was lovely and it was a nice acknowledgement that they are still out there. I love that Barbara and Ian are now married too, but I am a bit concerned about them never aging. It would mnake William Russell's long overdue return all the more unlikely. Top marks from me though!

It might also be a reference to the Doctor knowing that the Mona Lisa has "This is a fake" written in felt-tip under the paint  Cool

Is it just me or, whenever the Doctor and Jo are onscreen together, does Matt Smith suddenly look a bit like a very young Jon Pertwee?

I loved the way MS dropped into a lovely relationship with Jo - that was my favourite part of the whole story Smiley and I never thought of that aspect Roger, but you are right on the money!
