It's stupid on so many levels. Even if we're talking main tenure on the show, and the question was worded properly to that effect, the answer would be Tom Baker which wasn't even an option! Idiots.

Well the Tom Baker comment is basically moot. The point is to try and trick the contestants into losing their money, and they can only have a maximum of four options so it was a case of who was longest of the four choices rather than who was the longest of them all

My point is it was a badly worded question. It said "who played the doctor for longest", which doesn't appear as an open-ended question in the same way as, for instance, "who had the most number one singles" or something. I look at that question and the options and think "well, none of them".

I paraphrased in my original post, which I think may have been a bit misleading. Davina asked 'Which of these actors....' so in that respect it does actually make sense
