Just a bit of shameful promo here, but you can add your favourite Eleven pics to the new Galleries. He has one of his very own if you click on the tab at the top of the page Smiley

Shameful promo over Smiley

Sorry, shouldn't have been so negative, didn't mean to cause offense, I am very passionate about the show and let it overtake my sensibilities some times.

I had to truncate - originally I wanted to call it "Eleven is awesome and cool and adorable and cute and the best Doctor ever and who can blame Amy for trying to jump his bones" - but it wouldn't fit on the subject line.  Cry

Eleven really is amazing. I cant imagine a better Doctor to watch for my first series. I have heard good things about most of them, but I think this one will always be my favourite

He's a favorite for many of us old-timers too.  Smiley

A friend of mine who has watched Doctor Who for probably longer than I have (he's a few years older than me) idolizes Tom Baker, didn't think anyone could ever be better in the role of the Doctor than he was.  Tom Baker was my favorite as well, at least until Christopher Eccleston came along.  Then I jumped ship, but my friend stuck with Tom Baker as his favorite, even all through David Tennant's reign.  Then came "The Eleventh Hour".  I was in love right away.  I downloaded it, burned it to DVD, gave it to my friend, and told him, "To say that this guy is incredible is an understatement!"  He was shocked hearing it from me, so he viewed the episode with high expectations.  When I asked him the next day what he thought, he got this goofy stunned grin on his face and said, "I think Tom Baker has just been knocked off my pedestal!"  That's quite a compliment coming from him, and after just one episode!

So... yeah, Eleven is awesome!!  Cheesy  Grin

How's Eleven's thread on the second page? Matt Smith is positively amazing! Ten is "My Doctor," but Eleven rates so close to Ten and I adored him instantly. I hope he stays on DW for years to come, he's so talented. I especially love his ability to "act old in a young body." He's the first Doctor who never lets me forget that he's 900+ years old, which I think is a testament to Matt Smith's acting, since he is the youngest actor to play The Doctor in real life.

have to agree with you there, Matt's ability to play a 900 year old alien even though he's really young himself is amazing! Really quite haunting at some points!

I've always thought Matt was fab but man didn't he step it up a gear in The Impossible Astronaut - absolutely amazing. Even when he wasn't saying anything. I love the shifty, uncomfortable body language when he first walks off the TARDIS & realises where he is & then the simple hand gesture to carry on talking when the President spots him. And the delivery of his lines is spot on every time.

Perfect. My Doctor. And I hope he sticks around for a while yet  Smiley

Neil Gaiman said the exact same thing about him a while back:

http://www.digitalspy.com/british-tv/s7/doctor-who/news/a313979/neil-gaiman-matt-smiths-doctor-seems-old.html

He had that "old look" right after he said "My life in your hands Amelia Pond".   Gives me goose bumps when he does that; he's such an amazing actor.
