The Doctor and his companions are able to travel to anywhere and anywhen in the universe (though lately they seem to spend a lot of time on present day earth). Of all the possible places to visit where are your favourites? Earth? Alien worlds? Present day, Past, future etc. Do you think since the reboot we have seen too much of earth or does it make it better and easier to follow? Thoughts below

History for me. I like planets too but not when it goes all Star Wars. Future Earth is always a bit tricky to do I guess and future on other planets makes no odds as we dont know any difference. The historicals though are always so good. Brilliant sets and designs and rich characters and stories. Im dying to get a new companion from the past, like Victoria. I think it would be amazing

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

Hmmm...I'd definitely like to see more 'other planet/new monster' type episodes. Not too worried about the time aspect- past/future- it's all good. Although....like The Doc... I agree DW do historicals very well. Personally I'd still like to see the Doctor with an alien companion.

Sarah Jane Smith: No.The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it's a world, or a relationship. Everything has its time. And everything ends.

Please let us have Kamelion back I like the historicals and like Mandy would like to see more planets and aliens. Nothing thats a pig/cat/rhino/fly/insert animal though. I want something that looks alien. They can even be humanoid and still look brilliant. Like a Draconian or something.

I like a good mixture of past, present, future and planets - I agree it's been a bit too earthbound recently. The historical period I'd love to see, because they've never done it, is classical Greece. Also, it would be nice to occasionally have a purely historical story, as opposed to history-with-an-alien-threat. Some of the ones they did in the first few years were awesome.
I agree about the companions - some historical figures and some aliens.

I have to jump on this bandwagon too. More historicals would go down well with me. I love all story types but historicals and alien planets the most. In The Pandorica opens when they spent thirty seconds on that planet I just wanted them to go off for an adventure and discover things and for me to discover them too. Earth gets boring way too easily.

I think he needs to make a trip to Ireland. They could even film in Dublin and I could go watch. Ireland has such a rich history that they could do wonders with a historical story here.

My classic knowledge is a bit ropey, but off the top of my head I dont think any story has ever been set in Ireland so at least it would be new. Set during the Potato Famines or something?

No, there's never been a story set in Ireland. Three in Scotland, at least five in Wales, four in France, four-and-a-bit in Italy... etc etc, but they've never crossed the Irish Sea. I agree, it's time they did. Maybe the Doctor could meet Finn McCool.

I once had a winner of an idea that the Doctor turns up in the Holy Lands about 2000 years ago and starts curing the sick and telling everyone that they should be nice to each other. He manages to accrue a number of friends (say 12) and then one of them betrays him. He is put to death and seemingly dies but then manages to regenerate..... I call my episode 'The Life of The Doctor'

DO NOT BLASPHEME....
Anyhoo, in all seriousness, I am very much in the 'Alien worlds' camp. I know what modern day earth looks like and I know we haven't had any Dalek/Sycorax/Slitheen invasions (though there was a period in 2007 when i started to convince myself..) I want to be taken to different planets and meet exciting aliens. The Christmas Carol was sooooo good for me in a large part because we were taken to a very alien world.
I am also very keen on the historicals - i think one of the great things RTD did was to have at least one good solid historical story per year (and it looks like the Moff has kept to this). But I really want to be taken away from modern day UK!

What about something historical but on another planet? So some point in an alien planets history? Could be interesting...

Well, anything on another planet is part of its history from some perspective. The point of historicals is really that it's our history. On the other hand, it can be effective to show another planet at a stage reminiscent of a point in our history - both the Peladon stories and The Androids of Tara did that, and probably one or two others that don't come straight to mind.
