Anyone seen it? Ive been watching it today and I really like it, but watching it I feel like I am walking through mud and trying to get to the end. Its such a random serial and it isnt easy to get through at all. Not one of the Second Doctors finest serials

I haven't seen ANY Second Doctor yet beyond The Five Doctors but I have some of him and the First on DVD. One of these days (perhaps this upcoming three-day weekend?) I'll indulge. Smiley

I have seen it. Anyone who reads my Twitter ramblings will know I adore Pat Troughton's Doctor. But I got to be honest I found this a bit impenetrable. I didn't warm to the guest stars and the plot was dense. This is one I plan to return to. But in the words of the great man... You Are Not Alone - i found it quite tough watching!

Mr. Magister raised his arms high and spoke the words of conjuration:
‘Hearken to my voice, oh Dark One;
Ancient and awful; supreme in artifice;
Bearer of power; I conjure thee!
Be present here at my command
And truly do my will!
EVA, EVARA, EGABALA!
GAD, GADOAL, GALDINA!’

I have and this was the one where there were problems with other stories falling through and writers quitting while the episode count kept changing. I know that Patrick Troughton didn't care for this one much. It's okay but it is unfortunate that other stories are missing while this one survives. On the other hand, it's better than having just another missing story.

Did you ever get to the end of the Dominators? I must confess I left it on TV while I was doing some work, hoping that I might get the gist of it by symbiosis or something. After 3 episodes I had to call it quits as the booming and stentorus tones of the lead actors annoyed and distracted me? It is one of the very very few Doctor Who episodes of any genre that I would describe as 'rubbish' - Maybe I just need to leave it a while and come back to it? I hope I am wrong and it is actually a little gem that just needs a little chance!

Well I have done it now. Been watching the final episode for the last half hour (though I was mainly doing stuff on the computer at the same time)

I didnt dislike it, but it was by far the hardest serial Ive had to watch

Well at least you have got through it now. The next one you watch, whichever it is, will be easier to get through Tongue

This story was fairly entertaining. It's also one that never struck me as particularly cheesy or in bad taste until it was mentioned- then like a veil lifted, I exclaimed, "Son of a Thal, what are those guys wearing?!"
