The Doctor Who theme was composed by Ron Grainer and made its debut with the first episode of the Doctor Who series in 1963. Although it has undergone many rearrangements, this piece of music has remained the sole theme for the series throughout its history, making it one of the most recognizable television themes in history. It is also one of the longest continually-used pieces of theme music in entertainment history. The original version of the theme is considered a milestone in electronic music and a predecessor of the electronica genre of music and below we have every snippets of every single version of it for your enjoyment. Which is your favourite?

I love this video. So many great versions of the theme throughout the years. One or two not so great ones too, but on the whole a lot of great ones. I love Fives theme and the one from Voyage Of The Damned the most I think

The 2007 version plays when my cell phone rings.  Most people are like 'what the heck is that?' Smiley  I also really like what they did with the theme for the 5th season.  The video posted above is AWESOME!

Unlike most people, I tote the seventh Doctor's theme as my favorite, followed up by the original because of the clear da da da dum, da da da dum beginning. The rest are lost in thunders or electronic screams. Those two are ones I can always get into.

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!

I'm not so keen on the Seventh Doctor theme. Though I think that comes down more to the graphic than the score. But even still, I'm not overly keen on that particular score either. I like it. I like them all. But its not one of my favourites.

I think that the seventh's logo design and winking face are bad but I absolutely adore the CG part of the theme where the TARDIS floats by close up to the screen. I just like the sense of space the theme has. Not outer space, but physical space. Dimension. Know what I mean?
