How do you like the sound of Rex, Esther and Oswald? Do you think they will work well in the show or are you not liking the sound of them from what we know so far

I'm liking the sound of the new characters, especially Esther, they sound good, however we'll have to wait and see them in action! =)  |

Rex and Esther sound like reincarnations of Owen and Tosh. Which is a shame really because for that, you could have just kept the original characters

Yeah, that's what I thought when I first read the bios in the magazine. Rex sounds really like Owen in my opinion, and Esther yeah sounds a bit like Tosh, but I think in the end she'll be a bit more "sociable" if you know what I mean... Because she's younger and possibly less geekish - well that's the impression I get about her at least  |

I'm not liking the sound of Rex, like others are saying he seems to be another Owen, or even another Jack with his 'hustles, seduces and campaigns to get where he is today' and the line 'They frighten us, men like Rex. We wish we were him; we never will be.' is just too cheesy  Since they have failed to mention anything sci-fi so far in the synopsis/character bios I'm also thinking that one of these new characters is going to be some sort of undercover alien threat. Oswald Jones seems the likely candidate, but maybe too obvious? |

Didnt Jane espenson say that one of them has gone through a name change and character overhaul? I hope so because none of them sound that great to be honest. Rex and Esther seem like Owen and Tosh knockoffs. I have faith in the writing team that they will be well thought out and written well, but I am not massively excited about some of the new characters at the moment.

*Grumbles* I don't like them. Rex and Esther are less cool remakes of Tosh and Owen. No one can replace them!

I agree with all of this, and I hope it is true that one of them is having a complete character rewrite. I hope its Rex tbh. He doesnt seem at all likeable from the synopsis of his character that was released. |
