Except for Rose...for obvious reasons... all the regular companions to date had previously played a role in Nu-Who before being awarded the prize job of full-time companion.

- Freena (Adeyola before being chosen as Martha)
- Catherine (Runaway Bride Donna before becoming enlightened Donna)
- Karen (Sister of the Sybilline before being chosen as Amy)

There's some speculation that this trend is continuing and that Amy's replacement has already appeared in the show (or will be appearing as a character later this year).

Thought it might be fun for people to put forward their ideas/suggestions as to who it might be. Again - no prizes for guessing correctly Tongue

If it is someone we have already seen, then I would like Nasreen to come back and be a companion. I thought she was a great character and really well played my Meera Syal

If we go by Freema and Karen their original characters weren't reprised so it isn't necessarily going to be a role that stood out/was terribly significant at the time.

I'd like to see another male companion - someone older perhaps. Bill Nighy Grin

No way, do not want Bill Nighy, sorry Bill, but after seeing you in Harry Potter, you ain't never being hired by me unless it is a comedy role. End of. I would die if he were in it full time too. So, a small comedy role.

Not sure who I would want... That will require re-watching and hopefully I will get it for christmas... *fingers crossed*

What have you got against Churchill? Shocked Or is it the actor who played him you have a problem with? Undecided

I wasn't being "totally" serious about young Bill Tongue He wanted the main gig so I doubt he'd put himself up for the role of companion. Smiley

How about the guy who played Angel Bob or Proper Dave?  One of the vampyres perhaps?

I wouldn't mind seeing him cross over to the main show either  Cool Perhaps they can pair him up with the person we've already seen in the show in another role Cheesy

I'm pretty sure it won't be Clyde - at least...not this time round.

The guy who played Angel Bob does kind of fit the MO - shame I can't remember his name Roll Eyes

Outside of Doctor Who, I think that the BBC should reuse the guy who played young Gene Hunt in Ashes to Ashes; Mason Kayne Smiley

Bored of the women Tongue

Certainly time for a change  Cheesy

I'd also like them to be alien - humanoid but not from Earth.
