A new magazine will be hitting the shelves in the Spring (April or May I think) called Doctor Who: Monster Invasion. Its aimed mainly at youngsters and has monster information in it as well as cartoons and comics. A test run went out in southern England this year for six issues (thats one of the covers above) and it apparantly did really well, so it will be going weekly around the UK in 2011. Jamie Smart, who is doing most of the artwork for the magazine revealed all this via his blog.

His artwork is really good as you will see on his blog. Here is a picture of the Ood that he did. Its too massive to post, so HERE is the link.

I thought that this was basically what DWA was for?

Perhaps they are going to replace it with this?

I wouldnt have thought so. DWA does really well as it is. Not really any need to replace it

Is says Part 1 on the cover so I would assume it's going to be one of those multi-part collector things.

I think that cover is from the trial run they did last year. Not 100% on that though

Yea sorry, I thought I mentioned it in the original post. The cover at the top is from the dry run they did last spring. The new series will no doubt start with monsters from Series 6 I would imagine

I saw that on TV last night & got all excited. Not sure why as I'm unlikely to buy it ... guess it was just because there were DW things on my TV  Tongue
