My feelings for Amy seem to change like the wind depending on what episode I am watching her in but I have to say I was really impressed by her in yesterdays episode. She was probably only in about 12 minutes of it, but she was neither shouty nor glary and didnt make any stupid remarks as she has in previous episodes. She had a nice balance of humour and emotion in her story and I think Karen Gillen has really found her feet in the role. Did anyone else notice this?

I love Amy but I agree. There was a noticeable difference in her character yesterday. She seems more at peace with herself now and more confident in herself and Karen Gillen seems a whole lot more confident in the role. Shame we didnt see more of her though.

Perhaps it was because she was on screen for less time but I thought Amy was far better in yesterdays episode than she was for the most part of series 5. I dont dislike the character but she did grate at times but last night the writing and acting for the character was spot on I thought

Lots of people say that about Amy grating on them but I don't get why. I know she isnt always the most likeable person, but as a character I think she is great. I think some people see a character who isnt perfect and assume its bad writing or bad acting, but the fact that she isnt a perfect is what makes her better and more real.

I love Amy's character! I hated the fact there wasn't much Amy in the Christmas Episode though! Agreed that the role seems a bit better now, maybe Moffat realised that Amy was too feisty and changed how he wrote her, or maybe that is just who he intended the character to become after she'd settled with Rory... maybe?
Don't know if anything i just wrote makes sense! But hey!

I think that the character had to change and develop in order to remain or gain popularity. I think Moff always probably intended for her to soften as her story progressed but I also think he was on a bit of a fine line as many people didnt take to her initially.
