Hmm... tough, I'd probably have to go for Christmas Invasion or The Runaway Bride.

Followed by A Christmas Carol.

All of the Doctor Who specials, apart from the epic Waters of Mars, were abysmal.

I quite liked Planet of the Dead, though I am aware I am in the minority

I thought there was a very good story trying to get out, but it suffered from chronic quart-in-a-pint-pot syndrome.  They needed to either cut some of the subplots or make it a two-parter.

Count me in that minority too. A nice, solid, well written adventure.

I can't believe TEOT hasnt got a single vote. I know it wasnt particularly good but I thought all the Tennant fans would have chosen that because of it being his penultimate episode

Why would fans of 10 vote the episode that builds up to his demise as the best?? Sad

I went for TRB because of the humour and start of the excellent chemistry between the Doctor and Donna. Cool I like my xmas specials FUN  Wink

They might if it was good enough.  I think most Davison fans consider Caves of Androzani as his best.

Totally agree - I loved Planet of the Dead. On the DW Confidential for the episode, RTD stated that this was intended to be the Doctor's last 'romp' before the darker events of TWOM and TEOT and I think they really did that - sparkling relationship between Michelle Ryan and DT - and the UNIT presence was just brilliant!

Count me in on the love for POTD - although what it has to do with the xmas specials I have no idea Grin
