We know 11/Moffat is nostalgic. We've seen the past Doctors several times in s5, and references to old things. A common thing back in the day was for the doc to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow to fix things. Its like the old version of todays perception filters/sonic screwdriver. The solution to everything. So do you think 11 should do it? I know this is out of left field but its relevant to me

I'm not sure I understand you. Do you mean he should reverse... instead of soncing? I think Ten reversed the polarity once, but I don't mind the use of the sonic so much. Either is good with me

Yeah, I mean, should he use that as a way to solve a problem like everyone else used to

I think a mix will work well enough. The only reason RTP came about is because JP couldnt deal with all the techno babble and then it kind of stuck. I do think some other means of getting out of trouble are needed other than the Sonic though. It seems capable of everything these days

I chose 'Iceman, are you on drugs'. Not because the questions confused me, just because I have wondered for a while I don't mind what the Doctor says but we defo need less sonic

Just a small point of contention: the Doctor only ever specifically reversed the polarity of the neutron flow twice, in The Sea Devils and The Five Doctors. He reversed the polarity of other things fairly often, but doing it to a "neutron flow" was relatively rare.
Just a small bit of geek rage on my part. >_>

I certainly wouldn't mind it being added to Matt's reportoire but instead of the sonic? No way

The sonic probably has a "reverse the polarity of the neutron flow" button it by now anyway, so even if he did decide to do it it'd just look like any other piece of sonic trickery. I'd still love to hear the Doctor say it again at some point though.
