Someone is plucking all the incarnations of the Doctor out of time and placing them in the Death Zone on Gallifrey, where they will meet old friends and enemies and play out the deadly Game of Rassilon, for the ultimate prize. But to lose is to win, and he who wins shall lose... "Splendid fellows... all of you." The 20th Anniversary story which cheats a little in its "Five" Doctors moniker! Footage of both William Hartnell and Tom Baker is used though & it's such fun we can forgive it! Watch out for another oscar worthy performance from Liz Sladen!

I absolutely adore this story. I remember it used to get knocked quite a bit but I think there is a new found respect for it as the years go on. It can be a little jarring at first with a different first Doctor but I think he does a great turn and there are some great, if not slightly iffy, cameos from old companions.

I utterly adore this story too, despite the absolute cheese of some scenes - Sarah Jane's **** poor tumble, the dude from Pineapple Dance Studio as a teleporting robot... (not really him, obviously!)
I wonder if Tom ever looks back & wishes he'd been more actively involved - he could have taken it to another level in interactions with the others.

Oh I truly love the Five Doctors with an undimmed passion. Words cannot describe the simple joy when I saw that gleaming new TARDIS console, the little bit of Bill Hartnell at the beginning, the very slightly longer title music, Patrick Troughton...almost too good - with him and the Brig stealing every scene, Paul Gallico saying "No, not the mind probe", Philip Latham as Bourusa, More time lord mythology than you can shake a stick at, The Master giving the campest performance in Doctor Who history (and that is quite some achievement), "Good old Bessie", bits of Shada and many many more pieces of brilliance.
Everything about it is wonderful. There may be faults but I neither know them nor care about them. This love is truly blind.

Yes, it's a great story. It could easily have been overstuffed, but it manages to avoid that.

This is a great story. It's one of the first stories I tried out for classic to get a feel for the Doctors. Then after going through the episodes I rewatched this story. It just seemed wrong. I kept saying that I didn't remember Troughton being so old or the first Doctor so strange from the first time I watched it. But I warmed to Hurndall pretty fast.
There's just one thing I couldn't forgive about this story- after all those years worth of tv, I got to finally see the third Doctor back and he didn't wear his burgundy jacket. He wore some plaid overcoat that he would just *not* take off! Honestly. /:d

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!

I bought this recently but haven't watched it yet. I keep putting it off because I don't want it to be done. There's only about 10 stories I haven't watched yet and this is the one I'm most excited for.

You shouldn't wait. It's an excellent story. You're missing out by putting it off.
