And just for a laugh, Sesame Street did a parody of True Blood called True Mud.  It's hilarious Smiley

I got a set of the books in a box set, ten for £15.99. I will get around to reading them soon!

I've just been reading more stuff saying that Sam is going to get gradually worse throughout series 4, character wise. I hope he snaps out of it early on. He did my head in at the end of S3

Without word of a lie, or over exaggerating, this could cause me to switch off.
I love True Blood, but if they continue with Sam being an utter tool, combined with Tara being the most irritating woman on earth, I can't commit!

Though I am willing to see it through, I do understand your annoyance with the character. He went from very likeable to very irritating in the space of two episodes with no reason or explanation and it was all the more frustrating because it didnt make sense. I hope he gets sorted out. As for Tara though, I quite like her

It drives me potty, because Sam is a great character with so much potential as the "knight in shining armour" guy.

I completely agree with this statement.  Sam is underused in the books and they are making him into a monster on the show.  Very sad Sad

I won't mind his character change so much as long as they tell us why. The thing that was most infuriating before was that we had this big overhaul but no reason why it was happening.

I'm sure they will explain at some point. I just hope it's early on

I agree. I liked that he was one of the 'nice' guys and I really hope his character is redeemable after he gets this all out of his system. Though I heard a rumour he kills someone so perhaps this is just how he is from now on

I watched it. it was ok but not great. Seemed to be doing a lot of set up for the rest of the season. I don't want to spoil anyone so that is all I will say for now Smiley

I've got it, but I'm not going to watch for a couple of weeks. I want to rewatch the first three because I can't remember most of the third series other than Sam was acting like a tit for most of it. I just got to the Series 1 finale last night so will make a start on Series 2 later this evening.

It was quite possibly the least bloodthirsty or gross episode they've done!
Decent start, but I still have my one big gripe that will never go away - I can't stand Tara.

Double P - you're a very brave gal to rewatch the awful series 2. Everything involving the Maenad(sic) was dreadful in my opinion.

Series 3 is my favourite so far - Russell was absolute gold, Jerry, gold!

I don't mind series 2 too much. The Dallas stuff takes up too much time, but its not too bad. My biggest gripe of the first three series is the massive U-turn with Sam in S3. I hated him by the end of it. I don't mind Tara either.
