Apologies if this has been said elsewhere but The Solar System box set is no more. Since announcing it's release, The Ambassadors of Death is (according to Mark Ayres on Twitter) proving to be a much more extensive restore than first anticipated. So the plan is to release The Sunmakers this year and the Ambassadors has been bumped to next year sometime.

Fabulous news about The Daemons - one of my top 5 ever stories

I put it the Solar System thread last week. Such a shame, I have really been looking forward to this release. Agree about the Daemons too. Great news indeed!

I can't wait to see this one. I've got a grotty old VHS copy with large chunks missing where i attempt to edit out the adverts off UK Gold! I think this will really benefit from the production notes as well.

I used to have an old VHS copy of it myself, but I have no idea where it is now. I've not seen it for years so it will be nice to get the release

According to DWM, series 6 is going to be released in two formats on DVD & BluRay. Usually they release 4 vanilla sets throughout the year followed by the full collection around November/December, but this year they will release Series 6 Vol.1, a two disc set featuring 7 episodes in the summer, and then Series 6 Vol.2, a two disc set with 6 episodes in the autumn. The two mini sets will cost £24.99 for standard DVD and £29.99 for BluRay.

At the moment there is no word on whether there will be a 'complete' set.

I won't be impressed if there isnt a complete set. 2Entertain are calling it volume 1 & 2 of series 6 so we know at least they are counting it as one series (thank god), so they should release a single set too.

I'll record all the eps on my V+ box then hold out to see if there's a complete boxset. Really hope there is  Undecided

2Entertain have hinted at the next release...

Clue for DW fans - it's a Pertwee serial and there are no Dæmons in it

ClassicDW have revealed they are working on a release of Planet of the Giants and a special Ace box set. Dragonfire, The Happiness Patrol and The Greatest Show in the Galaxy are the only Ace stories not released so will probably be included.

I'm hoping they'll do it like they did with The Invasion.

I'd say it's unlikely to be honest. They were still pulling the 'too expensive' card as little as two months ago. At the most I would assume it will be a stills recon. Still better than nothing though. And I can't help but secretly hope they are lying about it being too expensive in order to surprise us!

You never know. The release of The Ark the other day did really, really well, so perhaps they will see that there is money to be made from it
