A summer holiday isn't a summer holiday for me without buying about a million DVDs, books, and audiobooks and this was one of the first ones I just had to buy.

The Amazon rainforest, 1827. The Doctor, Amy and Rory arrive in the jungle near a hurriedly abandoned campsite, where they are surrounded by hungry black caiman - huge lizards. Only the arrival of a man with a rifle sees off the giant beasts. Oliver Blazington has come to the forest to bag big game, and his companion Garrett is a naturalist, collecting exotic creatures for London Zoo. But the Doctor soon discovers that another very different hunter is stalking the Amazon. Animals and people have been disappearing without trace, and local villagers speak darkly of 'The Eye of the Jungle'. Amy senses that the all-seeing Eye is watching them - but she and Rory are powerless to intervene when it sets its sights on the Doctor...

Well, the first thing I remember thinking back on this... Rory may just 'die'... well we think he does anyway.

But this is a well written audio that definitely kept me interested throughout. And without doubt I can say that Rory is used really well in this adventure, I actually recall there being more use of Amy and Rory than there is of the Doctor.

Read brilliantly by David Troughton who puts on a brilliant Scottish accent for Amy and his voice is so lovely to listen to... I actually listened to it and fell asleep the first time I heard it.

But it's a brilliant audio adventure well worth a listen. It isn't on iTunes, but definitely well worth the £5 something it was on Amazon Smiley

He is also vain, ego-centric and quite mad

Nice review Hannah Smiley Sounds like a couple of these audio adventures that I've bought lately - we're not talking Logopolis but they are good fun and worth a fiver Smiley

I listened to it at it was a bit too jarring for me, the scenes kept on changing and it was a bit confusing, but the story plot was good.
