This is the thread for discussion of the overnight ratings, the official ratings, audience share, AI, iPlayer hits and anything else to do with ratings for this episode.
The initial ratings, share and AI will be from the UK, though these may be expanded upon later to take into account figures from elsewhere in the world such as the US and Australia.
If you want to see how this episode rates in comparison to previous series, then you can find that information HERE. Please feel free to discuss the ratings and share your thoughts on how well this episode is doing. For ratings relating to other episodes, please check the relevent threads.
If you need any help understanding how the ratings and AI is calculated, then feel free to ask and either a moderator or fellow member will advise you.

It is being reported this morning that the overnight audience for Dinosaurs was 5.5million viewers which equated to 26.2% of the total audience share.
I suspect this may be seized upon by tabloid nay-sayers, but as we regular consumers of viewing figures have come to understand, time-shift figures always make up a huge part of the Doctor Who audience.

Just to add to the post above I think it is worth pointint out that ratings for last night were pretty abysmal across the board. Doctor Who was second for the entire night and only the top two shows managed to get over 5m. As recent as two years ago you'd have had the top ten all over 5m just with overnights. The chart below just shows the top ten but there were shows in the top 30 last night that didn't even hit 1m. That's a serious low for Saturday nights and shows just how much the trends to watch have changed.
1 …. 8.2 (36.1%) …. The X Factor 20:15 ITV 1 2 …. 5.5 (26.2%) …. Doctor Who 19:30 BBC One 3 …. 3.9 (18.1%) …. Red or Black? 21:15 ITV 1 4 …. 3.4 (17.2%) …. Red or Black? 19:30 ITV 1 5 …. 3.3 (21.0%) …. BBC News 22:45 BBC One 6 …. 3.2 (15.5%) …. Last Night of the Proms 21:15 BBC One 7 …. 3.2 (16.1%) …. The Jonathan Ross Show 22:00 ITV 1 8 …. 3.0 (13.3%) …. The National Lottery: Secret Fortune 20:15 BBC One 9 …. 2.8 (17.2%) …. Total Wipeout 18:30 BBC One 10 … 2.6 (15.6%) …. Fool Britannia 19:00 ITV 1

There's another dip but do we really think that the BBC are going to look at that and grumble? I don't. I think they will look at it and see the second highest rated show for the entire day across all channels and their best performer too. On overnights alone! I've already seen articles about the state of the ratings and it does my head in. Especially when you see them hold this weeks overnights up against last years officials and use that as proof that nobody is watching. Very bad reporting and scare mongering.

AI has come in at 87. It's the joint highest ever for an 'episode 2'

Awesome figures again. AI especially. I think officials will come in at about 7.5m at least.

That's an excellent figure and the timeshift is amazing. I bet the Beeb are very happy with that. Do we know where it placed for the week?

Yep it was ninth, but I don't know what was ahead of it as it was in a tweet from Doctor Who Magazine - I'm guessing soaps & X Factor though.
