There was a thread for this before, I'm sure, but I can't find it.
Anyway, I was watching something on TV the other day and John Hannah was in it and there was something about him that just made me think he would make a great Doctor. I've not seen him in many things and I can't remember what it was that I was watching the other day, but he really stood out to me.
I think Matt is amazing and I am in no rush to see him go, but I think the next guy needs to be a bit older and vastly different.

I like John Hannah. It's an interesting choice. And a Scottish Doctor again would be cool. I always find it hard to think about future Doctors though. Some people seem very obvious choices, but the best ones seem to be the ones who aren't obvious. Eccleston, Tennant and Smith are all actors I wouldn't have lined up for the role but they have all been brilliant.

I agree. I like to be totally flumoxed by the choice and end up loving the new Doctor.

Completely agree I think the casting people have been more right than wrong in their selection (going back to 1969 - who would have picked Jon Pertwee to replace Pat Troughton? Two totally different styles yet worked perfectly). As for the next Doctor..... I wish Richard Wilson was younger (he would have been perfect). PP's choice of John Hannah is inspired and I think he'd be wonderful. It would never ever happen - but what about Rupert Penry-Jones?

I don't watch it ... yet, but I think that's Damian Lewis.
